You know what's crazy?

I bought 28 LLL.ios on Saturday (I wasn't too sure if it's good idea but what the hell, I already sold my NNN & NNNN so I had a spare cash),

On Thursday I received an email about one of them, He offered 250 english pounds, I countered 300. He accepted.

Poor sucker - a week ago he would have it for a reg fee :xf.grin:

Of course this sale was more like a freak "accident" rather than a norm - when I asked him to make an offer I expected mid-$xx at best, I'm still surprised he was willing to pay $400+ for a 5 days old domain.

I think the .io extension is going to get more popular in the near future for now I only see a few Startups and business related to technology using the extension but that is going to change in the future. Not sure when but it will.

Lots of random one word .io's selling now. Predict.IO went for $10k.

I did not know .io's were so hot. I had my eye on 066.io a couple of weeks back should have registered it when I had the chance checked it again today after reading this thread and its gone. I have joggers.io what do you think it would be worth given the current trend ?

$400 in 5 days that is a pretty quick and good sale. Would you share the domain.

Nicely done! You can call it freak accident, I say the right place and the right time! haha.

With .IO, you have demand from three different groups and it will make for a competitive tld down the road. The one word/two word buyers, the Asian number/short letter buyers, and tech buyers. Only .Com and .Net have all three categories really down pact. .ORG is still trying to find footing and same with .INFO, so long term .IO become more popular. Yes $35 is a steeper reg fee, but domains are prime marketing pieces for someones website and individuals pay lots of added premiums as you have just proven with that LLL.IO sale.

What really surprises me with the LLL.IO's is that Non chip are almost getting bought as fast as CHIP, this is a good thing actually becuase then were not stuck with all terrible three letter combinations at the end waiting for buyers to finish hand regging them.

Got it. Do you think it is a good time to buy some brandable 4L and 4N .io domains ?

I personally wouldn't but a random NNNN, as for brandables - the chances you'll find a buyer (end user) are quite slim and you'll very unlikely to recoup a reg fee selling here.
If I were to buy anything it would be either LLL or one word names that can be user for an app or web service:

I have done a little research and have my eye on a couple of 4L brandables they are such that they contain a word and then a couple of extra characters in them. The .com's for them went for over $5k if I could get 10% of what the .com sold for I would be happy with it but I haven't sold a single domain since I started which was less than a month ago and I am losing confidence. Plus the registration fee for the .io domains is over $30's which is three times the price for the .com and .net

Hi,

9898.io sold for $86 yesterday on Flippa. Good news for all friends who has NNN.io and NNNN.io . So many LLL.io (Chinese/Non-Chinese Premium) selling in range of $75+ even so many are available to register. Good news for .io holder. I myself have Few Super Premium NL.io (Only 260 such combination possible). Getting 2-3 offers weekly.

Go .io Go ....

Google treat .io as gTLDs. Please see below for more detail from Google.

Generic Country Code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs): Google treats some ccTLDs (such as .tv, .me, etc.) as gTLDs, as we've found that users and webmasters frequently see these more generic than country-targeted. Here is a list of those ccTLDs (this list may change over time).
