I NOTICED that most forums
that i visited SO FAR use seems
either the vBulletin or the INVISION power Board.

are these two different animals of the same nature
or is it JUST their NAMES?
if they are totally different
I would to get a good thread goiing to describe their merits.
it would be helpful to me as i am mighty interest in forums.

what is the price/value like?
which easier to use for a newbie? to install? to modify?
easier to navigate
easier to manage?
potential for expansion, lots of add-ons?
more comples functions for the experienced?
easy to customise/modify?

free skins too:hehe: most important

lets get the ball rolling!

invision too has lots of hacks around. It doesn't have those many hacks compared to phbb (in my opinion) cuz they are all standard in IPB, while you have to install hacks for phbb to get the same features.

I like VBulletin more too!
I have used phpBB, vBulletin, and UBB and I like vBulletin most because of its user friendliness as well as its features.

phpBB is great. I haven't used Invision, so I can't compare.
vBulletin is the BEST, but free is free. If you evaluate vB and Invision, and determine you don't need all the extra features, then go with the free one. The vB team are constantly working, and version 3.0 will be out soon with even more features than ever to help make an "instant community". More professional boards choose vB for a reason. If like myself, you have some "intranets" that do not need a full vB license... you might choose a free mb. It all amounts to what you need it for.
