Internet@TV

Hello folks.

After much study on the current market trends of Web Ready TV , it seems that there is something BIGGER THAN 3D.

And while 3D TV is exciting, it is still limited to certain types of programming, and the unresolved problem of pricey, non-standardized 3D glasses will turn off a lot of potential buyers. And that's why 3D TV will take a back seat to Web Ready TV

Televisions with built-in Internet connections, typically an Ethernet port and/or Wi-Fi, are becoming increasingly common as manufacturers roll out their 2010 models starting from $1,300 to $2,700.

Advantages of Internet HD TV

* Built in movie-streaming services like Netflix and Vudu,
*TV widgets that bring online content to living room - news, weather, traffic, Facebook and Twitter)
*Internet TV Search (pending patent by Google)

Bottom line: Web-connected TVs allow you to avoid additional set-top boxes, movie players, and shiny discs.

How could I aviod those things? Thenically, its just a TV with internet connection and a web browser . You still need set-top box for IPTV/DVB-C/... and shiny discs if you want to watch them :)

Theres nothing revolutionary in that technology - just a piece of hardware ( Intel Announces the Intel® Atom™ Processor CE4100 With Support for Adobe* Flash* Player 10 and 3D Gaming ) with dedicated OS+browser embeded into your TV.

No Top Set Boxes Necessary

Internet@TV Preloaded with Online Movie Streaming

No Top Set Box Necessary. It's Instant Streaming Built Into Your TV

Perhaps you've never heard of Vudu. If you've bought any Internet-ready consumer electronics device in the past 12 months, then you've probably noticed how many of these products come pre-loaded with services, such as Netflix, Pandora, Blockbuster, Amazon, and, yes, even Vudu.

Internet TV comes with prebuilt online movie streaming features which replaces Cable, Satellite & even the need for digital media players such as Blu-Ray.

In fact, online movie streaming/rentals is built directly into Blu-ray players (see here)

And that's exactly why Wal-Mart just bought Vudu Online Movie Service.

Here's an example of Online Movie Streaming (see here)

Interesting... a few weeks ago a friend was asking for advice on buying a new TV set. He saw something somewhere about Internet ready TV's and was ready to splash out £3,000 - before realizing its not exactly what he thought it was. But I'm sure when (not if) it becomes more available/mainstream - we will see a big market for this. Especially as broadband speeds (in the UK/London at least) going up and new lines/technologies being tested.

I don't normally do this.... but got a hunch... so went ahead and registered two domain hacks.

InternetReady.tv
WebReady.tv

Worth a shot. Who knows.

Would've bought 3DWebTv had it been avaiable lol.

;)

My son has figured out how to hook up his TV to a computer and gets 100's of channels. He dumped the cable company years ago.

No special equipment at all.

It will take a long time before I'll be able to watch streamed content from the net in quality equal to my current IPTV/digital cable streaming. And as Ms Domainer said, if I want to watch such streams, I just connect my laptop or desktop pc to my TV.

Saying that, top domains matching this technology are great, like InternetTV.com. However, that can apply to any new (or old) niche.

Cable out..... HD Movie Service In.....

That's great. However, there is a growing market for 'movie streaming' and this why Netflix has posted a $445 million dollar quarterly report.

But what really separates them from their competitors is that there isn't another service offering consumers a better price or viewing experience. Most of Netflix's Internet competitors can still only deliver films to computers. None of the them have made the leap from the PC to consumers' TV sets as successfully as Netflix--not Apple, Hulu or YouTube.

Netflix staked out the territory from the Internet to the living-room TV by cutting deals to offer HD Movie Service on almost every major set-top box and several high-profile TV sets, including Microsoft's X-box, Sony Bravia, the Roku Box, and most recently on Nitendo's Wii.

And that's why I just registered - HDMovieService.com

Tip: To find valuable keyword phrases, look at the title tags of each website you visit. Actually, VUDU.com, the new Walmart acquisition used this keyword phrase ( HD Movie Service )in Title Tags, but did not register .com, so I grabbed it.
