That's not exactly true... I registered q**x.org right after it dropped around a year ago. It had maybe 15-20 backlinks. It was getting 2500+ uniques a day from day 1 until over 6 months later. The reason it received so much traffic is that is was a TGP that had several hundred pages indexed by 3 or 4 major search engines (Google wasn't one of them BTW). The traffic was solid and the domain made over $700 until traffic finally died down.gazzip said:It would have to be either a excellent generic domain or have a serious amount of incoming links to get 7 K traffic per month.
I have a couple of domains one @ 5000 and one @ 8,000 incoming links to them and the most traffic they get is about 200 per month - max was about 400.
Have you checked in www.urltrends.com to see how many links it has ? It would have to have thousands IMO to get that kind of traffic.
Getting traffic is one part only - converting it to paying clicks is what counts, maybe this is the reason it is for sale ??
.
You still need to be careful. I've paid for "high traffic" domains before and then the traffic suddenly dies down right after I get the domain.Fleege said:The domain is not a very good name. I would pay much more than 50 for it is even. So that wont increase my desire.
the traffic is solid. I have checked the "way back machine" www.archive.org and also searched for its links online.
Gotta do some serious background checking before paying this kind of money. The reason the person is not asking more is that it is not very successfully parked. I think the person could easily double of triple his income and then he wouldnt sell for ca. 8 x monthly. or maybe he would. The traffic could start dying down. But its unlikely - it has been a site between 2000-and 2005. Maximimum was 28 pages...
