Interesting OVT observation: WITH extension isn't what I though...

I just did a shorty study of OVT results WITH extension and I'm wondeing if I've been doing it WRONG all this time... or at least partially wrong

In the TEST EXAMPLE searching TESTEXAMPLE.COM only gets a partial OVT result... in fact, it would be far MORE by also searching: TEST EXAMPLE .COM

Note the SPACES in between the words.

More specifi example...

"Google"

Google (without extension) 18021562 results
Google.com shows 5143827 results
Google com (no DOT before the com) 95808
Google .com shows another 74464 results

That's a significant increase

What this shows is that there is a diversity even within the people that search WITH extension. It also shows that OVT doesn't show a preference (or automatically include) searching a word pushed together or separated by spaces.

So the quetion is, do these numbers BUILD on one another and include the previous search results/variables in them or does the OVT engine consider it a completely different search result?

Doesn anyone really know?

I think I'm following what your saying.

They are completely different searches, with, at least, some different results (some sites are probably found in all the searches).

For example if I searched for Google.com, a site that had Google [space] .com would not appear.

Spaces, and word order, matter in searches. For example, there's a difference between the searches "name pros" and "namepros" While our favorite site comes out on top (in Google) for both searches, after that it's much different.

Searching with quotes is the accurate way to get google results for the name itself...example..."Namepros"..However...I always see what the two keywords bring in results wise aswell "Name "Pros" ...Ovt would be "NamePros.com" for the accurate overture numbers.

I like to check my Google pg rankings using "with||quotes", (seperate words), "withquotes", "withquotes.com", "with", "quotes", "quoteswith", *without quotes* and so on. Checking all of the angles can be useful as a means of isolating the competition, checking out what they are up to (mega, backlinks etc.) and, than, figuring out where I have room for improvement.

I had one site that was the most relevant for the categoty, which was in 1st position "withquotes" but in 3rd position "with||quotes".I analyzed the meta terms and description of the two ahead of me and, in this instance, was able to capture the top spot a few months after tweaking the text and changing up my meta terms and description.

What confuses me is the "-" equals a "space" with oveture. :(
