Interesting Auction "Result" on Snapnames... LAK.org , saggy "payment failed" , more

This name went probably $800 less than it would have on any other day, but what made it particularly strange is that Saggy's "Payment Failed" and resulted in his getting the name for $70 less than his highest bid...
Note to self: Always show up on Holidays. Note to self: Something still doesn't smell right at Snap.

There's definitely something strange happening there :td: .. I emailed their support people to see what they had to say so will wait for the reply. I thought that if a users payment failed then it was awarded to the second highest bidder, I guess if they didn't want it it should have been offered to me at my maximum bid of $410..

I got the following reply today:

Thank you for contacting SnapNames.com!

We determined the person that bid saggydimes up to their high point was fraudulent. He also did the same to 3 other auctions. All were reduced to the point where that bidder was not a factor. We are very vigilant concerning shill bidding and fraud and this action was a correction to a situation involving both.

Me too - guess it's good that they are catching it. I think we were just all confused by the auction status screen - they should proabably make it clearer that the bidder was disqualified otherwise it just looks strange..
