I've heard a lot of talk about losing money in battles with big companies when registering/ripping off their names. For example, my recent mistake, MyspaceVid.com.

However, I was wondering if I copied an exact name with a .pro extension (ex Myspace.pro) if I would have any trouble, and would it have any value?

Thanks so much for your input!

(Also, is it true that .pro's can be troublesome when it comes to transferring, etc?)

The issue is not so much the domain extension, but the name itself. In Myspace.pro, Myspace is a registered trademark of that particular company. If Myspace feels your intention for getting that domain is to harm their business in some way, then they can probably sue you which is why the value of the domain could drop drastically because of this domain being a registered trademark. Their defence would be that you are using their registered trademark to bring traffic to your site which has no affiliation with Myspace.

Yes, the extension is irrelevant. You are still infringing on their trademark. Stay away from these kinds of domains altogether, and if you have any, let them expire.
