1. Create a new quick button in the firefox toolbar.
2. Right click > Properties
3. Enter the following code into the link section:
Code:
javascript:void(location.href='http://whois.domaintools.com/'+encodeURIComponent(location.href))
4. Give it a name, mine is 'whois'
5. Click button, instantly take you to domaintools page for domain.

I've found it very handy :D

How do you create a "quick button"?

I have projectwhois provided by domaintools.com, does exactly the same thing and more!

Wow, thanks! Big +rep on the way.

I checked out ProjectWhois.org, but this is way better than having to install software imo.

Security? It's only javascript, you can see exactly what it does. It takes the domain from the site you're viewing, appends it to whois.domaintools.com and then moves you to that site. Why would there be a security issue, unless I've missed something?

Unfortunately this didn't work in my version of Firefox. :(

Which version are you using? Works for me in 3 and I used it in 2, you shouldn't be using any lower?!

Thank YOU! +Rep.

At first it thought it did not work for me because i could not find the create bookmark here but it was because i did not have the bookmark's toolbar enabled.
