If you could change just one (and only one) thing in this world, what would it be? (Can't be a broad thing like: end hunger etc, it's gotta be specific).

For me, first off I'd put an end to Mr Bush's presidency. (sorry if that offends someone).

Have a rule that people can't live in another country unless, they can provide themselves with a income.

Too many people moving countries and getting benefits...they should work for what they get, and stop moaning about the culture of the country they moved too.

I would want American parents to start taking better care of their children and showing more responsibility for their upbringing, their education and their actions.

My wife is a kindergarten teacher and I think it's just damn sad that most of the kids in her class started the year not knowing as much as our 3 year old. Of course, the "system" wants to blame and punish teachers for their students' slow progress, but what's really to blame is lazy parenting on a large scale.

What about people who flee because of persecution, war etc...

They might not be able to get a job etc so let them claim benefits and come here.

Who is it to judge that only Irish people can live in Ireland or English in England - screw politics. Anyone should be able to live were they want.

I agree with the fact that people should be able to live where they want but they should also be able to support themselves and not live on handouts from the respective goverments.

Of course it there life is in genuine danger then there has to be exceptions, i can understand and appreciate that.

But.........they should not move to a country expecting the native residents to change there ways of live for them, they should change and accept our laws and way of life, to that there is no exceptions.

Well, it is true that taxes cannot support everyone on the planet, and that some work is required. But if someone's life was at risk, they should be given time to wind (not sure how to spell that lol) down, and get through it. They shouldn't exactly be forced to get a job immediately after moving into a completely different culture.

As long as people have good reason to be on the doll, then they can as far as I'm concerned, that's what it's there for.

Ok, Taking a look at BillyConnite's, and Jortex's comments, that is sort of what i was saying, maybe it wasn't clear but...

I don't see why people should move to England, for example, for no reason at all, other than to get benefits, and get put up in a house, and get so much money aweek, and do nothing to earn it...

Also, yeh, they can come over here with a valid reason, for example, there country is running short of supplies, something like that...but not when they just come over for benefits, like i said a few lines above.

Also, cultures.
I'm not aiming at a specific religion here, but...some religious people can't take headscarfs off? Why not? We have to take Helmets off etc, when entering a shop, for ID purposes.

Also, stamps, minor things like this, believe it or not, but we have to print Snowmen, and RainDeers, we can't print Christmas Trees on them, because it "offends" other religious people. Pathetic.

In some parts of England, Christmas trees in shopping centres have being taken down, by request from the religious people.

Another note, some religious people don't pay interest back, because it's against their religion, pathetic again, if that's so, they shouldn't be allowed to take a loan out, then they would just get the usual line out, "OmFg, RaWk, Discrimination".

If they want to come over here, they should atleast respect OUR culture, if we went to one of their countries, they wouldn't change a thing....

Open-minded people should be tolerant of closed-minded people. It's an individuals right to think how they wish.

If I could change just one thing...how about language? It would be nice if there was only 1 language on the planet. I don't care what language it was as long as we all spoke it. IMHO this would fix a whole lot of ignorance people have about each other. Half the problem is just simply communication. Damn babalon!

Try to be a bit more specific though people. In labrocca's situation, you should've said that you wished 'whats-his-name' didn't want that big tower built back in babalon, when god decided to make everybody speak in different tongues. (NB: I think that's what you were talking about lol).

Muslim women are forbidden from showing their full selves to anyone but their immediate family (I think..?) and husbands. You cant exactly change an entire religion just because we dont have that custom.

Also, I would change all currency to the Pound! Much more simple for everyone.

Shoot, try and emmigrate to Canada.. you need to have all kinds of references, good credit, etc. before they'll let you in .. and I can see their point.

As for myself, I'd like to make sure anyone who needs it can get the medical care they need.. too many people in this country fall between the cracks and either suffer needlessly or go hungry at night.

I would change industry's "right to pollute"!

Sustainable ecosystems function on closed loop systems... the carbon cycle, etc.. Polluting industries must do the same. That is... IF we are truly interested in sustaining ecosystems.
