Could someone tell me how I can convert english letters into say german or chinese or something else so I can put it into the type in bar at godaddy to see if it is availible?

Are you looking for a translator or a unicode <-> punycode converter?

Unicode <-> Punycode Converter:
東京 (unicode) <-> xn--1lqs71d (equivalent punycode)

You can check the punycode at GoDaddy. Other registrars - Dynadot, Domainsite, etc - are IDN compatible and you can input the unicode directly.

I'm not sure. I don't know what unicode is or how to translate it. I guess what I want is to be able to convert english words example: real estate. Taken i'm sure. Convert it to the spanish equivalent or whatever and then put that in and see if it is taken. I have no idea how to do it.
