Firstly, learn to be more fluent in English, then you can better understand the laws & regulations coving usage of tradmarked and copyrighted material.

Then the next time you think of a good name , you can check about the name ,then if it is ok, register it.

Whoa, chill mate, one little mistake.. English isn't my first language.. So pardon me for making a small mistake..

On the other things, I thank everybody for their opinion.. And I will drop the domain.

I was not aware that "Ice Age" is a trademark..

But can somebody please explain to me, how can they put a trademark on 2 words that are in the dictionary ?

What if I would like to make 3 movies about the Ice Age : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age

Am I then not allowed to name them Ice Age 1,2 and 3 ? Because it is a trademark ? That's something I don't understand.. I mean you also cannot register "Porno" for example right ? So why can they trademark 'Ice Age'

*sigh* You obviously can't read.. I now KNOW that ICE AGE is an trademark, and I also know that I'm implying to that specific movie..

But my question was HOW can they put a TRADEMARK on two NORMAL words that are in the dictionary.

The example of WHAT IF I would like to make 3 movies about the Ice Age, and name them Ice Age 1,2,3 was just a quick example I thought of. I'm not actually making, intent to make, or even want to make.. But WHY wouldn't I be able to make the movies and websites, just because they have the trademark Ice Age.. Thats seems a bit crooked to me.. Can I just put a trademark on words in the dictionary ? Probably not, so how can they have this trademarked..

I'm still looking for a explanation for this.

I believe TM laws prevent cybersquatting with a combination of any "word+ TM", so they don't have "movie" TMed, but since the TM is TMed, thats enough for them to force you to give it up. So Google could take "GoogleSucks.com" or "GoogleForum.com" if they wanted to since it contains their TM.

I couldn't find offical TM site with all TMed words/names so I looked up their offical site "http://IceAgeMovie.com" and other images and noticed that there were no "TM"s next to "Ice Age". HOWEVER, I'm positive that the law will give them that daomin if they persued it since its evident what the purpose of regging it was.

Update: Google.com does indeed own "GoogleSucks.com" (whois)

just search for "trademark" on google and you will get all the answers you need. Whether they are "NORMAL words that are in the dictionary" has nothing to do with trademark rights. Just read up on it and it will be a good education for domaining.

Thank you for the information! I've already dropped the domain, but was still wondering about how they could do that.

A friend of mine said, that they have the TM on the image/logo for Ice Age..
Can that also be true ?

if you had iceage.com, that wouldnt be a trademark, if you developed into anything except the movie, what you have is a trademark. period.
