They are still in preliminary stages or approving the proposals. It could take up to a year or two before they actually release to the root servers to resolve. But, yes, if formally approved, they will resolve just like the currently released sTLD's (.aero, .coop, .pro, and .museum) do now.

Many people don't even know the past round of sTLD's exist, but here are some working sites:

I think most of the new ones will be somewhat restricted to members use just like the above are.

I think .travel will be restricted to those working in the industry.. it will be a shame, if so, for a variety of reasons... travel pros will be rewarded with premium names and the value of similar .com's will be diluted in my opinion.
