I want to promote gambling sites

Gambling websites promoting (good idea ?)

Hi there,

I am a programmer / web developer looking to use my knowledge to promote gambling websites.

My questions are :

1. Is this a good idea? Would it be better to promote mainstream products ? I don't want to promote adult websites, though.

2. Is it a good idea to build a 'portal'-like website for gambling, and promote for different affiliate programs on the SAME website? Or is it better to build one website for each affiliate program I am member of ?

3. If promoting gambling website is a good idea, I would like to have feedback from people who are doing the same. Which affiliate program should I look for ? Any suggestions ?

I would really appreciate to hear from people promoting gambling websites. I just want to know if it's a good idea or note. Please note that I work 8 hours a day on my day-job as a C# programmer. Is 3 to 4 hours a night enough for that kind of business ?

I have had a gambling portal site http://www.casinoclubplayer.com up and running since August 06. Although I have had many visitors and unique clicks on various sites I have not made one dime off this venture!
I think that the new regs regarding US residents has affected lots of people in this business. IMO if you do create a site you need to aim it at the European market.

as Len said in US there is some problems, but you can promote it in UK no problems...first of all you have to understand that, you are going to competite with a huge number of webmasters, they are running there gambling sites for more than 3 years... so gambling area is very difficult to make some money from it.... i am not discouraging you..its a fact.

Try to find some other industry and create a portal (thats a good idea) daily updating contents, like blog, article, tutorial, news etc. Create authority site, need lots of hard work and smart works....so be preapre for that.

IF you can do hard smart works, then you will be succes but any way you have to wait upto 6 months atleast get some money from it, if you are looking for search engine traffic.
