I am not sure where to start so here goes . . . I am an educator in an Urban school district. I love gambling, Vegas, adult content, and money. I do really like educating students, but it didn't seem to fit so well in my previous sentence.

On a whim, those are the best right? Anyways on a whim, I decided to skip a trip to the casino, count it as a loss, and buy a few domains. Well, I am in this now knee deep! I am up to about 160 domains since December 2016. I have actually sold one domain through SEDO so far. I missed the fine print about a $60 fee to sell, so that $100 sale ended up being a $40 sale after their cut, and a little over doubling my money once I paid myself back.

My portfolio if it can even be called that is all over the map name range wise. I have learned a few things along the way, but feel like a teenage boy who after fingering his girlfriend for a few weeks, stepped up to a blow job, but subconsciously knows there is more out there!

I initially used Godaddy, purchased 2 year terms, and added privacy for several domains. Now I am using Uniregistry, purchase 1 year terms, and get privacy for free.

I would like to list some domains and see what people think. I am an ENFP on the Meyers Briggs personality test, if that helps you understand a little bit of my thought process.

Here is something I do not understand. I purchased happyisnt.com Truthfully I would unpurchase that if I could go back in time, but I can't. I was just looking at Namejet, and came across nothappy.com That is currently gong for $252. It isn't the same domain and mine is one character longer. Nothappy may be easier to remember I suppose. I guess it is just hard to see a wide disparity between the two.

I thought I purchased william.com, but actually purchased willliam.com Kind of funny right?

Enough of that. Hope this community is great!

Other than the 'educators' of our young should definitely be vetted better, ...no, not really.

Popularity is different between happyisnt and nothappy. I think this is what you are asking, the difference. Isn't it?
Popularity is measured by search volume you can use estibot or plugins or adwords to see search volume. Search volume means number of searches per month for a particular word/phrase. CPC is also important. If I were you I would buy gold or shares from a stock exchange. Those are easier and less risky than domain investment. By the way, I don't know about ENFP and your thought process and it's not necessary for me to know. Learning stock exchange is easier than learning domaining. As you love gambling and money, I think you should love stock exchange. To learn, just follow financial news from newspapers and magazines. You can find more info than domaining.

Sometimes Google can be helpful in comparing two domains. If you search "not happy" with quotes around it, you can see more than 52 million results. A search for "happy isn't" shows less than 300k results. To me that indicates a huge difference in how commonly those terms are used in the wild.

Welcome to NamePros. It sounds like you're on the right track to learning what you need to succeed.

That makes a lot of sense. Similar sentiment, that isn't even in the same stratosphere after all! Thank you.

Any thoughts?

be leery, stay leery, and suspect everything until it's no longer suspect

don't spend any money on upgrades, subscription fee's, software, or tools.

Good Luck!
