Daaaaaaam - that's tight, I'm gonna break my keyboard and be like, "Dad, my keyboard broke :( **faking tears**" Although he'll probably say "Well go buy a new one" still worth a try...

TTYL

BTW, artlebedev.com is a site of a russian web-designer who charges min. $1500 per project :$ I bet he designed that keyboard.

It'll be around $500 when it comes out. By the look of it I can tell the developer spent at least $10,000 on the designer having a prototype made. Artem Lebedev is truly a great master at this stuff.... they make a lot of things that are so unique. It'll be available for sale no earlier than 2006, by the looks of what the web-site says.

I'll get it when it's around $100 ;)

An interesting concept. All they need to make it a reality is a 3D printer that lets you print photoshop images are a real functional device :)

Already around -- the process is called "rapid prototyping". Not Photoshop though because that is mainly 2D, but you can design a model in 3D software like 3D Studio and print a physical part using a stereolithography machine (or other RP technology) .

Check out this company I'm involved with: http://www.print3d.com

I think what primacomputer meant was a printer that spits out 3D things that actually work :P Am I right?

Prima said 3D printer, and I'm saying they already exist.

Ya, its gonna be pretty expensive, but I dont think it will be worth the price.

I dont think I would spend alot on a keyboard, but its still pretty cool

Looks really cool, though i doubt I'd spend $500 on it :D

Alas, none of the 3D systems out there can take a photoshop mock up and turn it into a keyboard let alone a keyboard with working electronics and lcd panels. Perhaps a RepRap from the year 2050 would be up to the task. For now we have only an artists impression of what such a keyboard might look like. The only machine that can render that has eight fingers, two thumbs, and knows how to solder, use a lathe, etc :)
