I registered a domain 1 month before a trademark was filed

On a purchase only.. and not knowing any background issues about a domain and later researching TM issues and finding out there was a filing 1 month after the purchase what issues may I run into and what kind of lawyer bullying should I look out for?

you mean you got the domain before the trademark was placed?
if thats the case you have everyright to have the name if you had the domain before the trademark was purchased, but if you've registered it after the trademark was placed on the name you may aswell wait for the email.

One thing you can consider is if the party is prepared to demonstrate common
law trademark rights, and if their lawyer knocks on your door in a gorilla suit.

The important date is not the date of filing, but the date of first use. If the usage was before the domain registration, then they have a valid point. A TM can be obtained through usage in commerce.

So you registered it one month before they filed for their TM... I don't supposed you registered it knowing that they existed and hoping to make a buck or two off of selling it to them, didya? ;)
I have had situations similar to this before, so I won't go so far as to say that the timing would be impossible absent your knowledge of their growth/plans, but it is not as likely as the alternative is.

Thanks for all your advice. I don't really care about the domains that much so i'll probably just sell them off

Selling off a domain that is a trademark can still get you in deep doo-doo, if a dog fight breaks out at the ok coral. You can be held liable and sued.

I always get a kick out of people worried about owning a TM domain but have no problems trying to sell them off for a few bucks which is in essence TM infringement. Keep the domain is my advice...park it...if you don't care about it...then roll the dice and see what happens. Best case...you make some PPC money....worse case they UDRP you (well not THE worst but most likely the worst).

PM me the domain name if you want...I am curious and if it's a decent name I ain't afraid of sheet.

Hah, me either, but then again it's easy to be brazen when you own nothing for them to take from you :)
