I received a private offer for $300USD for QuietCancer.com & QuietCancers.com. I was hoping to get high $XXX to low $x,xxx for both domains. Should I make a counter offer, or should I accept? Thanks in advance.

Take the offer and hope its for real. IMO.

You should accept. The combined value of both is minus $14, which makes me think you are posting bogus info, and no-one has made this offer to you.

I'd be happy for you to prove me wrong, but I'm sure you can't.

That is a sad but common example of twisted logic.

I happen to believe that this is a legit offer and the domains are worth that and more than the money offered.

In your situation - if I had no money or research invested in development - I would accept the offer.

Go for it .....

I see no twisted logic here.... The domains are worth SFA, and I'd bet my last dollar the OP never had an offer in the first place.. I'll bet my entire .com portfolio on it!!!

What does SFA mean to you or us??

You are making a statement that suggest that the OP is untruthful. At the same time, you are still making a bet. Well - I guess you are a gambler .....

Will you own up to your commitment and debt if it is proven that there actually was such an offer ??

Relax -- let's just give him the benefit and stick with the original subject.

Yes, you should accept the offer straight off-the-bat as QuietCancer.com is an example of a speculative registration, one you'd probably never receive another offer on again.

$300 for these name seems like an overly generous offer. I'd take the money.

LOL, why would I make that up? I really did receive an offer. Just because YOU believe these domains aren't worth it, doesn't mean I'm being untruthful.

If the offer is legitimate, and I am doubtful it is as there are far too many threads on this site about that actual domain, definitely sell it to them as quickly as you can. Where was the offer made? Direct email? Close the deal and close this thread so they don't realize they overpaid.

I understand the potential in "QuietCancer", but there are a lot of hand-reggable domains that a not-for-profit would choose over that one.

That's not a Hello Kitty attitude. That aside, some domainers don't let facts get in the way of their reasoning. Here, there are no facts to suggest that the OP is lying. A $300 offer for a .com domain (or two) with medical keywords that make sense is not out of line. In fact, any domain that has value to a buyer can command a $300 pricetag. It is all a matter of salesmanship.

Should you sell? Sometimes buyers make their highest and best offer first, and then disappear if you reject it, so think twice before rejecting it.

What could you do with $300? Invest it in another more valuable domain with greater resale or development potential? Buy groceries? Sock away the money for an emergency?

The ball is in your court. Don't take too long to decide (Ya snooze, ya lose).

I agree with the mantra of "innocent until proven guilty". The OP doesn't have to prove he's telling the truth -- he simply posted a question to the wrong forum, and much of this fuss would have been prevented if a moderator had moved this post to the appraisals forum straight off-the-bat.

However, as a step that would likely quell these "lying" accusations, the OP could post the identity of the party making the offer. Since he's already encoded the domain name in open space, Google indexing is clearly not amongst his concerns. Hence there's no logical reason not to reveal the buyer's identity or upload a screen capture of the inquiring e-mail message.

It could also have been one of those fake scam appraisal offers as was mentioned. That seems like another likely scenario.

Could be, and the OP should perform his due diligence. But from my experience most of these scammers offer $XXXX or higher as $300 would be much less enticing bait for an advance fee fraud trap.

Good point. I agree with your post except a screen capture would not work since they are easily manipulated. The OP's story does sound fishy, but as you stated "innocent until proven guilty" is the rule of law. How this thread has escaped moderation escapes me.:santa:
