Before couple of days ago when i was trying to register new domains i thought about "Gong Ring".
So the both of GongRing.net & GongRing.org registered before more than 9 years ago
I guess that was my luck because GongRing.com expired and i found it available :).

so please tell me your opinion about it, is it good catchy ??, how much it worth please ? !

Absolutely useless.. What are your going to do with it... I don't think anyone in their right mind is going to purchase this from you hence the reason it expired.. Good Luck!

well, before saying absolutely useless, just try to think about why gongring.org & gongring.net got registered before 10 years ago and the owner still renew the both of them until the current moment ???!!!!

Well whoever regged GongRing.org should not be domaining... Same for the .net guy...
....I'd like to see some other opinions

The first domain I ever registered (not as a domainer, but as an end user) has been continuously registered by me for almost 10 years now. To a domainer, it'd be worthless, but to me it has both sentimental value and also is a site with a large number of backlinks.

If I didn't own the domain, however, and someone asked for an appraisal here, I'd do a MicroGuy on them and use the words "grace delete" (though it wouldn't be as humorous as MicroGuy's responses). It just goes to show you how the total registration length doesn't mean anything. People hold onto domains for that long just because it means something to them.

Oh, and agreed, reg fee.

Search volume is the key for generics. Just b/c someone else regged or sold somthing similiar means nothing. Worthless IMHO.

same person on .net and .org, probably the same who had the .com .... they may have had an idea 10 years ago and simply regged the names as long as possible, so no actual renewals.

Well, I decided to keep it, I don't care about the monthly search, I will build the monthly search for it after developing it.
Actually i still like it, I think i will build ring tones site on it or something like that :)
Maybe it worth nothing for the domainers now because it is undeveloped and has no monthly search, But it is so different situation with the other guys and the non-domainers and the visitors.. etc, i just asked the guys about the domain name itself, a lot of people liked the name when i told them about, i meant it when i said a lot of people !!!. So i think it could be very very successful web site for ring tones or musical stuff , don't u think so ?

Yes, it is good and catchy but worthless undeveloped. I sense some development potential but the site premise must be brilliant. Reg fee for now. Good luck with this two-word .COM. IMO.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is a FREE appraisal. This is a guess at quick flip resale value not an unrealistic end-user price. Often times my appraisals are rushed, too low, or too high. Sometimes my advice is totally wrong and occasionally downright dumb. If the post stamp is after 5:00pm EST, the chances are even greater that inaccuracies will occur due to blood alcohol levels.

When I think of the term 'gong' I think of the Gong Showโ„ข (so negative connotation). You could make a site with ring tone reviews featuring the best and WORST ring tones.

As someone who develops internet businesses for a living. If your business plan is to build a ring tone site and then hope people come to your site forget about it.

One of my friends, who is a marketing manager, ran the SEM campaign for a major ringtone company. Their annual budget was $5,000,000 a year to drive traffic to their sites. It is a very, very competitive business.

SEM - you need millions
SEO - you need to wait a long time to gain any traction

I don't see it. I wouldn't develop a name like this with so many better names out there tied to high search terms.

Good luck, I'll await your reply that I'm wrong.

Brandable domains require millions. Generics tied to high search terms, at least you have hope of getting some traction.

I agree with this post 100%.... And this isn't that good of a name IMO....

Actually.. I dont like it because the domain itself is horrible.. I can deal with low searches and development but i cannot do anything with a crappy domain..
