I have a problem

I have a problem.

Won a drop via pool back in June.

Was regged by dodora who then went bust

The name was then picked up and re-registered by directi.

Directi never contacted me and I only found out that they were the new registrar via whois. So I contact them and they dont know who i am (despite my details showing up against the name on whois). They dont know who I am because for some reason they didnt get my details either from pool or dodora and so they then wouldnt give me access/user id/password or anything. Pool would not help me either.

Finally obtained access to my domain after 2 months of sending them proof of id and filling in their compliance forms etc etc etc.

Now I have sold this name and the purchaser has sent the money in to Escrow. I go to Directi to transfer the name and they now tell me because of all the confusion (none caused by myself you understand) they have locked the name for a further 3 months... Saying this is their compliance.

The name is being sold for mid $$$$ so you can see my concern..

I need help, good help, now...... Solution anyone?

I was just wondering if you have any other domains in your account with them? If not can't you just change the registrants name to the buyers info and give them the account information or is that option not available because of the lock?
Can it be pushed? If so set up a account with the buyers info.
just some quick thoughts.

Also, if he does have other domains in that account, he should just create a new acct and push the rest of his names to that one and hand the guy the old acct.

Thanks Guys, Definately food for thought. I guess the problem lies in the fact that he has paid escrow already.

Ive been getting angry this afternoon thinking about directi, pool etc. I just cant believe that they can lock the name for a further 3 months. Its been locked since June and they say I cant unlock it until the end of November...

If I lose the sale because of this I may sue Directi (and pool for that matter)

Can you just give him the account that the domain is in? Clear out the rest of the domains (if any) and change your contact info. Instead of losing the domain, all you lose is an account. You can always create another. Just a thought.

you shouldn't lose the sale because of this, as stated above, just give him the whole account and explain your situation to the other party, I'm sure they'd understand.

That's not exactly what happened. Dodora was sued over a contract dispute with a party in Texas, and defaulted on a whopping large judgment. As a result, the plaintiff seized Dodora's assets and came to an arrangement with Directi over the names Dodora was managing.

Dodora had a history of some astoundingly bad management of whois data from domain names they had picked up through Pool, and your name is not the only one which had suffered as a consequence of their data management practices.

If you PM me the domain name, I may be able to reach someone who can resolve this situation.

Ok, looks like buyer was v.understanding, changed account details to him and now that hes gained access, despite it still being locked, hes managed to changed the whois info.
