I hate pricing domain names

I've been sorting through my names. I've selected some travel/tourism names, and I've populated a market site. The problem is that not one of them had a BIN price associated with it. I've decided that all my names for sale should have a bin associated with them. I hate trying to be objective about pricing. For example, I've got a name that I've owned since 2005, but it isn't part of my future. I'm still a bit nostalgic about it though.

I think that I either over-price my names, or I under-price them. The problem with this is that the good under-priced names seem to sell quickly, and the over-priced ones seem to sit there daring me to insult them by dropping the price. :)

Yes, my domains are conceited and impudent too. Make the overpriced ones show some respect by raising the prices of those you are underselling.

I've done majority make offer for 14 years. Make offer gets the lead and then ya can work it. Can use minimum bids to eliminate the low ballers. Priced may never receive the lead to begin with. Lead=conversation No Lead=Crickets

I would only do priced on low end names your looking to move on your own site or where prices would help sales=distribution networks Afternic etc...

Gems I would keep make offer or make offer/minimum bid and work them as the leads come in

I'm starting to think that this is the best approach. It's much easier to set up as well. I think I got seduced into using BINs by waking up in the morning to find out that some names had been bought and paid for with no effort from me. :)

Depends on quality. Is it a name that priced would be an impulse buy or where one decision maker could pull the trigger. Or is it a name where priced high enough where an instant decision probably not likely and maybe 2-3 decision makers need to consult if a go or not.

Lower end makes sense to price as ya want them gone and possibly effortless sales. Higher end pricing probably not an instant decision and negotiations based on offer form intelligence gives ya some insight to who your dealing with which may help. Higher end domains with no shortage of offers I leave make offer. Stuff I would like gone no problem pricing them as waking up to sales doesn't hurt. Also don't wanna get caught with a gem being set at a certain price where something could happen to increase it's value and ya forget to adjust your pricing. Own a few domains adjustments not so bad, own hundreds or thousands and not so instant to adjust them across multiple sales platforms.

I have always said, We like our own domain names, More than others do, I know i do, and am guilty of over pricing my names for sure, But then the vast majority of my names, are not for sale unless an end user contacts me with a healthy price. I guess that is why Flipping never fit into my scheme of things in Domaining.

Today is action day, and I've decided to do a bit of portfolio pruning. I want to put together a page of namesto see for a set BIN price. So now I have to decide on a price to appeal to people who are "resellers and not end users" - should it be $5, $10, $15, $20 or $25. I think I'll try the Dutch auction model. Start at $25, and then drop $5 on the ones that are left after a few days.

Pricing by far is the hardest part.
