But upon going to register it, I got a Trademark notification from GoDaddy. If I don't intend on using it for any business means, but rather, invest in it, to turn around and sell... Would I be in potential legal trouble? Or is this simply if I intend to monetize it as my own website?

I think you going to have to proceed with caution here mate. Maybe check out the company in question and see if other domains exist with the company name in them as well and see what sort of content these other sites have. If the company in question has an affiliate program then you could contact them and get permission to use the domain on condition you promote their products only using their affiliate program. (assuming they have one)

Thank you! I shall tread lightly. It's a widely used keyword, though. And it's just within my grasp... So tempting. I'm not kidding when I say it could be worth a helluva lot.

if, gobaddly sent you notice that your name has trademark issues, then your intent, is how you will be judged, should it come to that.

imo...

Check it out carefully before you buy, especially if you are going to spend a lot to acquire it.

You don't want to end up losing the name in a UDRP suit.

Several people have lost big bucks when their domains are taken away because of UDRP.

It is really a crap shoot when it comes to the UDRP panel decisions.

It can go either way, and there have been a number of seemingly unfair decisions.

Invest at your own risk!!

If that was on registering it, where a trademark holder form came up by acknowledging it just make sure the domain is not used for same business type and you'll be fine. Otherwise you risk losing the domain.

Just remember the warning is not them being nice to you. It is to have written proof of your knowledge about the domain before you purchased it. (to be used against you later)

Reselling and being documented in this manner, dont get along at all.

Why would you put yourself in a risky situation.
Forget about the domain and find something else safe.
