I don't understand is Enom now $30/year?

I just looked on their site and it says:

Domain Name - Register your name today

* Free web site builder
* Free email forwarding
* Free DNS services

Starting at: $29.95/yr
I always used to think it was like $9/month. Even in the domain company reviews forum of NP it says enom is $8.88/month. What am I missing?

What I get from it is that it's some type of package. Apparently, with the $8.88 reg...you do not get any of the following features, etc.

FREE web site builder
FREE email forwarding
FREE URL forwarding
FREE parking page
FREE name-my-phone
FREE name-my-map
FREE DNS services
FREE control panel
FREE bulk tools
FREE name spinner
FREE sub-domains
FREE auto-renew
FREE registrar lock
FREE reports

Registrations start at
$29.95/yr

Strange. Doesn't GoDaddy offer all of those for the $8.95/year?

Yea, It is strange. I've never used eNom really. So I am not too sure.

i think you mean per year

you can get $8.95 reseller accounts or $8.15 retail accounts, or you can buy lower accouts that have already been created, but you cant create new accounts less then $8.95 for reseller or $8.15 for retail

Yeah per year my mistake. So the cheaper 9$ plans come with barely anything. No forwarding, etc.

How does the reseller or retail work? I'm curious because ModernBill works with Enom for domain registration so I'd like to register domains from Enom as cheap as possible.

Uh, no, the $9 domains include all the features. The deal is that if you sign up directly with enom you get a $29 price. They do this to not undercut their resellers. So the key to getting good enom prices is the either sign up from a reseller, or become an ETP.

All regular accounts come with the same features as the $29.95 account. domain.addict might be referring to a 'name-only' account where you can get domains from eNom for $5.99 but has many restrictions.

If you signup from eNom's homepage, the retail cost is $29.95/yr. If you get an account from a reseller, you can get much lower prices than this. This is why we offer the eNom account creator here.

Click the 'Domain Tools' link at the top of NamePros and you can create an eNom retail or retail account instantly.

Is your tool still working for resellers accounts?

See http://namepros.com/showthread.php?t=86828

Unfotunately not at the moment. Still works fine for retail accounts, but the reseller subaccount restriction is preventing new reseller account signups.

Looks like some folks are pretty upset no announcement was made...
But checked, the API still works for retail, and that's still a great account.

So no more reseller Enom? I needed that for my new hosting company to be able to auto register domains.

there are still resellers but now first a retail account must be made, and then one must manually log into the parrent account and turn the sub account into a resellers account.
