I Just successfully captured an aged(reg in 2004) domain (formula1****.com). Its other versions .net and .info (both registered in 2009) of the same domain are redirecting to formula1.com. I have no idea whether formula1****.net and info are really a property of formula1.
What will be the chances to sell .com to formula1 if formula1 owns .net and .info.
Also what will be the scnerio if formula1**** is a trademark. Can I consider formula1**** a great asset for me right now?
I will appreciate your replies and suggestions.
    Thanks

Formula 1 is a trademarked term. Probably playing with fire here. I'd drop it.

registering for own usage (ie. a blog about f1 records) with registering to resale are two different things

your goal is to resell it, correct? then, as @inforg said, better drop it

Fine, so if I develop it and use as website, then might be in the future formula1 get interest in it. I think then it can be a win win situation. What you say about it?

So many names to find and buy without all the baggage. Why waste your effort on something like this? It gets pretty stressful when you start getting the cease and desist emails and registered mail threats.

If you want to develop something, find a topic you have genuine interest in and build something fun.

I don't see why they would be interested in a way that it will be profitable for you
Of course you know better, I just can't imagine how

Note that to be on the safe side, during the ownership of your blog about a TMed term you need to never show that you had any profit out of it and in general you don't confused anyone with what you show up in your blog regarding the TMed term.

Note also that what I say is just my opinion on the matter. I have no proper knowledge of the TM laws and you should seek professional opinion if you want to be 100% sure.

Any money you make off of a tm goes to the holder of the tm, so it is a loss for you and a win for them. Drop the name and stay way from tm names in the future.

Reminds me of a normal guy that cannot let go of some woman he met on craigslist casual encounters that is a divorced meth addict with 3 kids that did time for beating her ex husband.

So in this case I am thinking to offer them this domain for free, I think it will be better choice than just droping it. They will happily give me the reg fee at least:xf.smile:

They might set this redirect for SEO purpose, to inflate/fake SEO metrics. Are you really sure their owners is F1? Did you check Whois?

    Don't drop
    Don't offer to them
Don't try to sell to the TM owner
Park your domain on Sedo... and wait.
    Don't make noise and waves
    :)

If you get cease and desist letter than give domain to them but for free
