Where ever I check my pagerank for
www.theceliac.com - it shows PR 3
but when I put a page rank checker on my site it
shows PR 0...I don't get it...
I have checked several checkers and 3 comes up everywhere
does any one have or can someone else check and see what
you get?...Please...i just used www.webmastereyes.com and it
shows PR 3...but when I add the code for the checker it shows 0...
does it take time to correct?...
What am I missing??... (other than brain cells) :p

It might depend on which way you're visiting your site, or which way the PR checker on your site is "seeing" the address.

With the www. (http://www.theceliac.com) your site is PR3
Without the www. (http://theceliac.com) your site is PR0

I would think either you're visiting your site without the www. at the start of the address or the PR checker on your site is looking without the www.

even with prchecker.info it shows 3 when I use it on their

Nope, how can I get the page rank checker to read
my site with the www. in it..it does when I'm just checking it
but when I add it to my site it goes to 0 reading it without the www.

It's a common thing, you can fix it though so when you visit your site without the www. you automatically get redirected to the www. version. It'll eventually give both versions the same PR.

If you don't have one already, make a file called .htaccess and put it in the main directory of your site, then put this code in it.

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^theceliac\.com
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.theceliac.com/$1 [L,R=301]

ok, not sure if I done it correctly but I created a file called .htaccess and it added .txt after it, I put the code in it and uploaded to the directory...so not sure if that is correct....take a boo if you can see it...thanks

Is it your computer that won't let you save it as .htaccess?

If so, save it as 1.htaccess, then upload it. Once its on your web server, rename it to simply .htaccess.

I am not 100% sure... but...

I think do as you did when it added the.txt ending onto the file
and upload... then once it's on your server - rename it to just:

.htaccess

htaccess is actually not a file name but an extension. The dot must be there for the Apache server to see and process it.

A very powerfull tool -- Do a Google on htaccess.

To see if the redirect to www works just type xxxxx.ext in your address bar and if it is working the address displayed will change to www.xxxxx.ext.

I also use it all the time for doing 301/2 redirects.

Thanks guys for your responses, I am at work now so I can't do anything till I get home...I also had a power failure with a hard crash and I can't get passed the Pick windows safe mode or last known correct connection windows screen...when I pick safe mode it restarts and goes back to the same screen...there is a blue screen that flashes for a second and disappears, it has writing on it but it's too fast a flash to read it.........but I can't even get to dos prompt....windows just starts with the timer bar then back to safe mode screen prompt....GRRRRRRRRRRRR
So I unplugged it all and had to come to work....So I can't do anything now till I get home....I just can't figure out why it's doing this now...

There is no actual point in this... PR is for you, not your visitors.

Just check your PageRank at other places.

I know it's for me, but if same site showing 2 diff pageranks...with
www or without...why? I may have done something wrong...and I was looking for help to correct it, and I appreciate all the replies, this is my first site and I just wanted to be sure it was correct.
