Site Description And History
Site was launched in July of 2006, but did not start receiving traffic until Mid August.
This is a site that was designed to provide ad-free web hosting to users. It has become to be known as a large free web hosting provider on many well known forums such as, FreeWebHostingTalk.com, FreeWebSpace.com, and many others.
Site and Forum Stats
Forum contains over 79,000 posts, 10,000 threads, and 4,600 members.
Usually 30-40 users online at a time.
We host over 1,000 free accounts, and have deleted many due to inactivity.
Traffic Stats
Site received 26,572 Unique Visitors, and over 54,000 visits from Mid July - December 06. An average of around 9,500 monthly visits or just over 300 visits/day.
Site has received 42,780 Unique Visitors, and over 88,000 visits this year so far(January - June 07). An average of around 17,600 monthly visits or just over 585 visits/day.
85% of the traffic comes from direct type-ins and bookmarks. Other 15% comes from outside links from forums.
Most traffic comes from the USA.
Revenue
Site has made over $1,400 through Google Adsense Ads on the forums since it opened in Mid-July 06.
There are no forced ads on user pages, all income comes from forums.
Also made an additional $60/Month through sales of text links on the footer of our home page.
Around $200/Month revenue on average, although Adsense has been decreasing their CPC slowly.
Much more could be made by selling more links or selling ad-spaces or forcing ads on users sites. We tested forcing ads on users sites in October 06 and made almost twice as much as usual, but users did not like it so we removed them.
Expenses
Up until December 06, we were spending $20/month on a reseller hosting account.
Then we moved to a VPS which ran about $50/month.
Since about March, site has been running on dedicated server from LayeredTech which costs $98/Month. Server can be transferred or everything can be moved to your own server.
Accounts on server are currently using about 65GB of space, and under 200GB of bandwidth monthly.
The site has very dedicated staff who takes good care of the forums. We have 1 co-admin and a few staff members. Staff takes care of everything except upgrading accounts and changing domains which takes about 5-15 minutes daily.
