Before I start promoting this forum, I wanted to request any final thoughts for my new open source forum.

http://www.OpenSourceForum.com/

Yes, the skin is just the default skin. I almost went with customized version of a red skin that I found on vBulletin.org, but I decided that for my target audience my time was better spent have a clean organized forum.

What I am mainly interested in feedback in the sections and forums. I tried to follow the advice I found on here and wanted to have a minimal set of forums to start to not have it look to empty. And the to expand as it grows as RJ suggested on here.

Any other suggestions and constructive feedback would also be greatly appreciated. I am always looking for ideas on how to better identify a needed niche and make it more rememberable.

And if you are interested in the subject or any particular subset, I would very much appreciate you joining and even asking particular questions and I will try to get the answers for you or at least point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your time,
Matt

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

You should have a section for opensource home solutions other than that its pretty good, there isn't to many different sections which is good.

The logo isnt too professional.
And yes start with a few topics add topics as you add members.
Try Incorporating the Opensourceforum bit in the logo.

I think you have put together your forum just fine, I only have 1 suggestion...

You need something that keeps your members coming back especially when you start a new forum with not much going on. For instance NamePros uses NP$ to get people posting, you need something "sticky" like that to get your members back to your site every day.
