How Valuable Can a Domain With Country Extension Like .CA or .DE Be?

I'm wondering...if I found a really good 1-2 keyword domain that already had the .com, .net, .org, and .info taken by other people, is it worth it to get the .ca or another country extension to sell to an end-user?

Is it likely that somewhere down the road, an end user would pay good money to buy such an extension to make a site unrelated to the popular .com?

I would look for .co.uk extensions myself as there are quite a few unrelated to the .com one.

Three good recent sales where the .co.uk and .com owners are different:

Recycle.co.uk £150,000 = $309,901 Pvt Sale 11/20/07
Fly.co.uk £87,500 = $181,042 Sedo 11/27/07
Reviews.co.uk £38,000 = $75,307 Pvt Sale 8/21/07

stick to .co.uk, .de, .ca, .us and .in/.co.in and maybe some .cn names if you're planning to invest in ccTLDs and looking at resale. Don't suckered into buying .bs and .as names. Also keep in mind the language and the extension (long english words wont do well in .de since they speak German there), and the registration restrictions.
