How to transfer domain 1and1 to Namecheap

someone please help me to transfer domain from 1and1.com to namecheap?
do i need to cancel the domain in 1and1 control panel ?

It's been a while since I transferred all my domains from 1 & 1 to GD, but I think it goes something like this....

Login to http://admin.1and1.com/ and unlock domain(s) to transfer

Use the "Info" selection to acquire the Auth Code for each domain to be transferred...these are needed for confirmations during the remaining process

nitiate the transfer request(s) at gaining registrar

You might want to also check their "help" section to see if they can help....

Do i need to go to cancel.1and1.com to cancel the domain or just follow above steps? i got this msn from namecheap "Transfer in progress for domain.com. Transfer approval email was sent to the admin contact, please approve the transfer. " but i didnt received any email. What should i do?

NO you don't cancel...
just follow the steps mosilager mentioned.
Be patient. Sometimes it takes more than a week long for the transfer to take place.
Namecheap has a good cust service. You may contact them if you have more questions.

Please call 1and1 support to walk you thru the step. Be prepared to wait though because the response time could be anywhere from 1 minute to over 60 minutes while they play their oldies music. This is what we have experienced. And some other folks we know that use 1and1 have complained of the long wait times. That being said, they should be able to "walk you out" to the new registrar. If they are not willing to give the needed support you may post that back here for it to be on the net. But I am sure they will help.
