Hi all,
I want to create site under some name and I am owner this name but under .biz extension and I want to have this name under .com.
So I want to buy this domain from current owner, he don't use this domain, this domain is just parked, I found that owner of this domain owns more undeveloped domains like this which I want, so I think that he bought this domains for sale. I never contacted him etc, I can give for this domain max $500 and this is not super premium name but I think that it can be worth more.
I don't have money for this purchase now, but if will know how much he wants for this name it will be more easier for me to collect them.
So how I should start ?
mail him asking for his price ?
if yes,
should I do this from mail under my .biz name to look more seriously or from other domain to prevent overpricing ?

hope You all understand me ;)

Is the whois information anything like:

Nameservers:

THIS-DOMAIN-FOR-SALE.COM
NS.BUYDOMAINS.COM

Registrant:

XXXXXXXXXXXXX.COM
4200 Wisconsin Avenue NW #106-190
Washington, DC 20016-2143

Administrative Contact:

XXXXXXXXX.COM
Buy This Domain RN, WebReg
4200 Wisconsin Avenue NW #106-190
Washington, DC 20016-2143

Because that takes you to buydomains, which is who usually ends up owning domains like the one you (don't) describe ;)

If so, go there (Buydomains.com) and you can see if they have a "buy it now" price marked. But it seems they are more interested in traffic than reselling for medium profits at this point, as I've had some solid offers turned down.

If it is someone else who looks to be a smaller reseller of sorts, then by all means, email from a personal account, not one from the .biz equiv. (But if you had to resort to the .biz, they already know the value of the name since apparenlty all the good extensions were gone ;) )

Except if it's one of my names. Then email from the .biz. ;)

Email from a new random anonymous gmail account, and do not mention you own the .biz or what you want the name for... 'personal site' if anything.

I think emailing from your biz site can be helpful if
your biz website shows that you don't represent
a company with deep pockets. Being anonymous is
a poor idea.
