Hi guys,

I see that pool and snapnames have lists of domains that are about to be deleted.

Is there a way to sort this data using excel?

len(A1) and such does not work for me.

thanks!

well you can do a simple sort quite easily. Just select a Column. Go to Data -> Sort and press okay.

Or are you looking to sort with respect to size etc? Please describe a lil more !!

well, i was wondering if one could sort the list by the number of characters in the cell. It would be sorted in order of 9 total characters, then, 10 characters, then......, etc.

Well you had the right idea.
Do this:

1. Copy the list in Column A
2. Split th eColumn A from the delimiter "." i.e dot so that you only have the domain name left in A and the extension goes into column B
3. Now have a formula for Column C like this =Len(A1) for Row 1 and Drag / Copy it across the whole of Column C
4. Now Select Columns A-C and Click on Data -> Sort. Select C as the cloumn to sort on. Press OK

This will sort your sheet according to the size of the domain.

Let me know in case u come across a problem.

Kross
