How to snap a domain privately

I know this is a wierd qn. But how to snap a domain without using any backorder services?

I recently tried to grab a 3char domain and was awake till the time of drop.. i was continuously searching for availability.. and lo it was not shwing available for even a sec after 12 pm ist when the domain drops!

TBH i did lose some sleep over these. for the past few days i have been trying to find the time of drop to catch those domains. and i found tht the domain drops at IST 00.00Hrs. But catching those domains had been difficult especially .. er.. 3c .com

I was just few seconds delayed for 3 letter.org

it shwd available wen i queried at 12. then wen i was checking out it shwd domain taken. in a gap of 1 min the domain was registered

The big players who provide backorder services have computers that can act so quickly that you really don't have a prayer of grabbing one before they get to it. You can only hope that no one else has any interest in it.

I've actually started writing and testing my own system which at the moment only notifys me of changes to a "pendingDelete" domain via my blackberry.

But later I hope to integrate this with my OpenSRS reseller account which will give a bit more of a chance against backorder companies.

I'm going to maybe let other people use my system once its upto a public release status and its going to be completely free, I don't see a need to charge for it

You either need a couple of hundred computers that automaticly try to registrar the desired domain name 60 times a minute from different ip's so they dont get banned.

Or you need agreement with around 50 registrars that will try to registrar the domain name for you.

But just give up and backorder the domain name with Snapnames, Pool and NameJet.

I've got access to the couple of hundred servers and reseller account with API automation at Tucows but I'm not sure how they would like me attempting 60 registrations a minute of which all will fail bar 1!
I've dropped them an email anyhow

You can only hope that some hardcore domainers eyes are not on the domain.

I see domains getting deleted and grabbed in seconds :o
I think many have setup automated systems to do that.
