Hello!

I'm new to flipping domain. Like other newbie there are lots of questions that comes out to my mind. I read one article that says he used namejet to obtain domain and sell it for profit. After reading it my question is..how to find the buyer for the domain? I have a lists of good domains that I keep. Actually, I have a .info name and the .com of its version is sold at afternic at $16,000. I never thought that the .com of my .info domain has sold that high. I heard lots of .info domain has been sold high too, now my problem is how do I sell my .info domain? I was left confused with domain marketplace like sedo, afternic, and others. I want my domain sold like others did on their .info domain. Has any of you can help me? Anyway, my domain was registered 2 - 3 weeks from now and domain is about selling " " online.

Hope to hear back from a pro..

Sorry for my english if you found it hard to understand..

You can try on flippa, if you have valuable info domains.

The fees are just to high for low value .info. I suggest ebay or forums..

What are the names?

Some .com that sells for $16,000 can worth almost nothing in .info.

Yes, I heard flippa and I see some folks list their .info domain there and get lots of good bids... I am considering it and looking for more suggestions.

Thanks so much for your suggestion...

Go for Ebay. Even then you are probably going to have little luck. .info's are a hard sell, except when someone has plans to develop them but, still they aren't going to net much. This is coming from a guy who really really loves them and wants them to do better.

Why don't you do some research into where those pricey .infos sold and use the same method? Just because the .com sold for $16K doesn't mean your .info has any value.

how do I sell my .info domain?

You need a gun.

Many words may sell for xx,xxx or even xxx,xxx in dot.com, and you can't sell the dot.info for even $5. It has to be a very high quality dot.info before you can sell for more than a few dollars. I remember owning a bunch of dot.info's... TigerShark.info, Waif.info, MixedWrestling.info come to mind, and others... couldn't even sell them for $5 so I let them drop a couple years back. MixedWrestling gets over 22,000 monthly searches... and the dot.info still available to register now. Many words with much higher searches are still available in dot.info.

You need a really good word to sell dot.info. It's being done, there are some nice sales recently if you check it out; but they are very fantastic words. Some domainers are selling 'pretty good' keyword dot.info's for xxx or x,xxx, but these are generally domainers who have a seasoned idea of what names will sell in dot.info, and an experienced skill in finding buyers.

Thanks for the thoughts guys.. well, I tried to give a link from flippa sold domains and history of .info sold out to other sites. They are huge in amount.. the less sale is around 8k. Admin removed the link, unfortunately.. anyway, I'm still confident that I can sell it more higher than you think.. :D

Good luck to me..

There are instances where luck comes in unexpectedly. It's really not common that .info domains sell high. However, there were still occasions wherein some .infos sold very well. And those were the times when the sellers met the right buyers/end users and vice-versa.

You can either:

1) List on Sedo/Aftenic and just sit and wait for a buyer
2) List on forums/ebay
3) Pay to sell it on Flippa.com
4) Be pro-active and start contacting others who you think might be interested. Can take time and effort but much more likely to sell for a higher profit.

As a rule of thumb, .net's sell for 25% of what a .com is worth and .org a bit less. I don't deal with .info's so I don't know- just my general rule of thumb though of course there can be other variables.

there is no such "rule of thumb" that is applicable, where the % value of a .com domain, trickles down to other extensions.

as there is no guarantee that those other extensions will have any value in the eyes of others.

there are also instances where the .net is more valuable that the .com, particularly with gambling domains and many LLL.orgs sell for more than many LLL.nets and even as much or more than some LLL.coms ....depending on the actual domains letters, sellers skills and resources.

so, don't set your mind on any fixed formula's when it comes to domains, as there are too many variables that affect pricing.

imo....

List your domain at Sedo.com - it won't cost you anything.

The hard part is pricing. There are two ways to go:

1) Price it between $100 + $300. Good chance of selling it, but might take a long time.
2) Price it based on what the .com would sell for (I use Estibot.com to help). So a $35K .com might be $2000 for the .info. Then cross your fingers and hope.

3) Pay to sell it on Flippa.com

Can you tell me more of this?
