How to monetize a domain name

Hi guys,

Need your advice.

What is the best way to monetize one of my domains? LondonFashion dot com
I’m zero in developing, don’t know how to monetize anything, but I have some friends who could make me a design, coding etc.
I just need an idea.
I think that I can create a database of fashion boutiques in London, to put some original content (I will buy it) and to earn money on adsense.

Here's the question: What would people going to a site named "London Fashions" be looking for?

A directory of shops?
Clothing?
or ??? ...

If it were mine, I'd assume they were looking for clothing and would look for a suitable affiliate or two with a product feed, but that's me. Adsense is easier for most people to do.

Well I think people would like to find some local London fashion news, trends, maybe direct links to buy clothes. Don’t know exactly. Generally it could be developed in a kind of a portal – everything fashion related in London, but it’s a big project with unknown future
I want something more simple.

Tie up with London Fashion Week, free content, great branding, maybe even some good revenue.

The domain itself is a fairly expensive one, a paid directory + adsense will get you peanuts.

Once you're established, then you can charge a decent amount for listings too.

Not a bad name. Maybe a directory for shops? Or you can even make an e-shop for clothes that fit that particular area and/or boutiques that you can purchase from and re-sell?

This is a very nice domain. You can do a lot with it. I think you can build a site with a dozen or so articles about fashion in general , fashion trends in London etc etc. Also apply some affiliate programs' product feeds. Once you build traffic ( I would think it should have some type in traffic?) you can add a section for advertisement and charge monthly to fashion boutiques in London for advertising on your site. You can also write some articles about some top name fashion designer/s in London and maybe if they have a website or boutique that will make them a great prospect to advertise on your site as well.

I think with the combination of affiliate feeds, adsense, advertisement and probably banner ads and text links( Your affiliate links) it can bring in decent revenues per month.
