How to make thumbnail of homepage?

Hi, I am a new member of this super forum! I design websites and I want to make thumbnails of the webpage of each design so I can put maybe 20 on one page to show visitors what designs are available. THANKS, any input is appreciated. I have searched all over the net. I see that other people somehow make a jpeg of the web page, but maybe they are just taking a photo while the page is up on their computer.

I believe all you need to do is make a screen capture. I belive just press the print screen button and then paste into a graphics program such as photoshop or paint. Then trim the broder, resize and there you have it.

Or you could use a screen capture program It's 100x better than Print Screen. You can make many screenshots in a row without loosing them (because you can only have one screenshot in your clipboard at a time) plus a hundred other cool features such as making a screen shot of a scrolling page, capture a certain area, capture active window, etc. Just go to download.com and search screen capture and you'll get a bunch of programs. I, however, suggest SnagIt or Hypersnap

oh yeah, i have just remembered that my hp printer software installed a screen capture program on my pc tho i havent used it yet. if you have an hp printer, you might want to check if hp installed the same program

Ok, why would you use a website for this, ESPECIALLY if they require a link back to their site??? Just use a program to take your pictures!

I just press the print screen button on my keyboard, Open - new in Fireworks, paste, then shrink it to whatever size I want. File - export.

For anyone else interested too, this is what I used on TopPixels.com to get the thumbnails:

and if the site isn't showing up, go to:

http://thumbnails.alexa.com/update_thumbnail

and request a thumbnail update.

Make sure you follow alexa's rules so they don't take away this nice feature.

Thumbshots.org was nice, but it only has thumbnails for DMOZ listed sites.
