How to find traffic on a now expired domain name?

i found a domain name expired that i was not expecting to... and would like to buy the name and fwd it to one of my sites.

the domain expired in july... and is now up for sale again.

so... where do i check? i did both a link check on google and alexa... but still looking for a lil more before i buy it

please give more info, check what?

traffic... i.e. - how many uniques this domain name was receiving before it expired... as i know there was a website (and a pretty nice one at that) up w/ the site for the year that the domain was registered
