I want to make this post, which is going to be my 3000th post, a memorable one. I invite all domainers, the strugglers, small time domainers and middle level domainers, Experienced and inexperience domainers, domain experts etc. PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERTISE HERE.

The challenge is how to double the Capital in six months investing in Domain names.

What type of domain names you are suggesting to buy, from the Secondary Marketplace, and new registrations, particularly in .com.

What are the present trends?

What are the future domain names?

What are the best keywords preferred.

Also please try to suggest some websites where one can get free tools, where one can diagnose a domain name’s full history.

Further, readers can ask in this thread what else they want to learn from the experienced domainers.

ALL ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS DISCUSSION.

Best strategy for newbie is to learn as much about valuations as you can, join DNAcademy and watch DomainSherpa on youtube before you buy any domains. When you have the confidence to start investing, then set a budget and buy 1-3 of the best domains you can in your price range. Research all the available names and buy only when you are certain you can turn a profit. Better to buy 1 domain at $100 that is valuable than 10 hand reg domains that are worthless.

Very out of box approach.
I have observed on 'Completed Domain Sales' thread. Many seemingly useless domains rap up big sales. I just wonder how come such domains even cross the mind of sellers.
Now your explanation make sense to me. Thank you for sharing.

Let's take Agilice.com for example: https://dotdb.com/search?keyword=agilice&position=any
By searching at dotDB you will know that Agilice has been taken in .com, .net, .app, .cl, .digital,
and also below domains.

agiliceapp.com
agiliceco.com
agilicedigital.com
agilicegroup.com
....
...
..

These are the clues that Agilice.com must be worth something more than $59 USD. And normally I would go for domains with more than 10 potential buyers according to dotDB's result.

Hello everyone, I want to share some more of my sales in June because it was a great month to me.
The COVID epidemic seems like having no affect on domain sales, I see more and more offers coming than previous months.

The highest domain that I sold in June was Asia888(dot)com for $10,000 USD, and I also sold about 5 other .com domains in the range of low-mid 4 figures each, for a totally $20,000 USD sales prices. And my original investment was only about $500 USD for these 6 domains. So the ROI is about 40X times.

I grabbed Asia888(dot)com at Dynadot expired domain auction at something like $12.99 USD and I don't really know what it means but dotDB tells me that it has 44 similar registered domains and 7 exactly matched ones, so I assumed that it must be worth something more than $12.99 USD, and the sale proves that I am right, just FYI. :)

Inspired by Kahneman, Tversky, Slovic, Taleb et al., I only invest sums that are fully covered by passive income from other sources such as index funds, and focus on domains with uncapped income potential. The domains do not need to be trendy, all short (under two words) or brandable dotcoms will do.

When it comes to trends you can look at any showcase thread from 3D, VR, IOT, Weed, Crypto, etc. Most of the registrations are worthless.

The best domains today are generally ones that were good in the past and will be good in the future - Short domains, branding terms, keywords, phrases, quality GEO, etc.

I would rather buy those type than chase trends personally.

Brad

Spot on Brad, trends can change real fast and make an aftermarket purchase looking for a flip go out the window fast.

Awesome @fleaking Congrats on your very successful hobby. I also check dotDB from time to time and if I like it, I will get the premium. Are you sing the free version or premium. @AbdulBasit.com also swears by it.
One reason I haven't pulled the trigger on premium, I still can't figure out the advantage of dotDB over the Expired domains RDT. I filter by RDT and when I click the number shown in the RDTY field, it takes me to a page that shows the same result as dotDB. So I am missing something there. WHat more do I look for in dotDB?
@AbdulBasit.com bro. You also please check.
