How to customize Google maps?

I was asked by a friend if I had any idea how to plot your own locations on Google maps so it can added to your website. If you look at ononemap.com and set an amount for a house to buy, it will show you all of the houses in London for that particular price which is what my friend would like to do but for houses in his area that he is selling, any ideas?

You'll have to learn how to use the Google Maps API if you want to code something like that.

The basics are pretty easy with the Google Maps API. For those who shun Google, I recommend OpenLayers (openlayers.org).
