Hi pros,

I have been sending out some emails to selected companies letting them know of industry related domains I have for sale.

I have had one company reply almost instantly asking for the costings of 2 of the domains.

How is best to respond, do I respond with pricing or do I respond and ask what he would be happy to pay?

Im still getting to grips with all this :)

Hi

i' gonna come down hard on you, because folks like you do shit ass backwards.

before....you send out your spam letters

have a price in mind, know how much money you want in exchange for your domain.

then you won't have to come back here and ask what to do or what to say.....when we don't even know the domain name or who you sent these letters to.

find you a mentor.... I charge $10 per minute

Good Luck!

:)

Hi Biggie,

Thanks for the response, even though your coming down hard on me.

I do have a price in mind.

What I am asking is what is the better approach whether to respond with the prices or ask him what he is happy to pay and then start the negotiations from there.

If I tell him what I want for them and he says yes then he may have paid more?
If I wait for him to respond with an offer then then I can see how serious he is?
Do I go back with a higher offer than what I want, or will this scare him off?

I have contacted companies who sell/produce the exact things that the domains relate to.

This specific company is a middle of the road company and pays to advertise on this exact keyword on google.

The CPC for the domains are $3.93 and $2.30.

YOU, are the solicitor

therefore, it is your responsibility to submit price

quit playing games and "act" like you've done this before....even if you haven't.

don't think about the "what if's" like what if he would have paid more....when you didn't ask for that amount.

don't think greedy, before you even make a sale

however, if you want to net $2k for example, then ask for $3,250.00. this way you can negotiate down if necessary.

if you go in being scared that the buyer may walk on your price.... then you'll never achieve maximum roi

if there is more than 1 company in this field, then that means there is more than 1 opportunity.

imo....

It's human nature to be curious what someone wants for their obsure, difficult to price item like domains, so don't be surprised if they're not interested at any price other than give away. In other words keep it real if you need the sale. Goodluck

Hehe, Biggie actually gave a really good advice, pretend that you have done this a lot of times (even if you haven't) and you'll be the head of the game;)
