I find on godaddy a domain listed as premium that I'll like to buy. I mail the owner from whois info and made hem an offer and he mail me back and told me that he accept my offer. But he want me to send hem the money into payal acount and he told me that he will push the domain into my godaddy acount as soon as he recive the money.

I told hem to drop the price on godaddy at hes price + godaddy comission and I will pay hem via godaddy but he insist that this is the best wey for hem.

I only want to do a safe transaction and not being scamed becouse is happen to me before, not in domaining but in other transactions.

Please let me know what do you think. How safe is to buy a domain via paypal?

Thank you!

Paypal typically seems to always side with the buyer should anything ever go wrong.

So as a buyer its typically safe. The only reason I can assume he wants you to use paypal is so he doesn't have to pay godaddy a commission.

So do I get my money back from paypal if something goes wrong and he dosnt transfer my domain name? can I be safe using paypal for this? Please let me know ...

I offer to pay myself the godaddy comission.

He/she now know you dont trust them. What tiny lil chance of tippy toeing/taking a pp chance is now over. Dont purchase this domain through pp

I am assuming its enough $ you cant afford to lose

Of course the sell wants instant payment

let them think there going to lose the sale unless they do it your way

You can never be 100% safe. But usually the seller actually takes on more risk when it comes to Paypal transactions as it can be disputed.

It comes down to the amount. Is escrow an option?

If commission is an issue, ask him to take it off premium and relist it as a as a regular sale.

Read Paypal's TOS. It is important to know that non-tangible items are not covered. Therefore, if a problem does arise they will not step in to settle it.

Tell 'em you can go through escrow.com and you'll cover the fee. I've used them twice and it is an easy transaction (and reasonably priced). You can initiate the transaction and choose the option to cover the fees. Fees are probably the same as using paypal (which is not a secure transaction). Just my 2 cents, good luck :)

I don't see why they wouldn't want to go through Godaddy if you are offering to cover the fees there.

Yes it is safe , and it is the best way , the domain will push into your account , that is the fastest way.

In your specific case, I wouldn't advise using PP.

In most cases, It is a very easy and smooth way to make domain transactions.

Use escrow unless you know the seller, and even then only if the price is an amount you can afford to lose. You may not really know who you think you know.

Not usually a good sign.

It will take for a long time for the seller to get the commission from godaddy.

so, paypal is the fastest or you can try SEDO

Good point, I just looked it up at GoDaddy:

"Payment is made within 45 days after the last day of the month in which the sale occurred."

This could be why he want's Paypal since he'll have the money right away.

I agree with this. You could pay the seller and receive nothing and PayPal will not reimburse you.

As for Sedo, there transactions typically take 2-3 weeks (in my experience), so he may be reluctant to sell there also for the same reason as he doesn't like GoDaddy. So lets' wait and see.

Paypal is much easy and convenient way for any kind of transaction but on the other hand side its not secured at much level , so if the domain purchasing is being done for just a small charge, the paypal method can work or else not!

This statement is 100% accurate! PayPal is dangerous for buyers and will NOT protect them if the transaction goes wrong.

Paypal is not safe for domains. You have no buyer protection for products like Domains. Simple. So you can get scammed very easily.
So pay with paypal only if you trust the seller and/or if the amount is let say below 100$
