Greatdomains.com just offered to list one of my domains www.WMD.com. If i list it witht hem and someone makes them an offer am i required to take it? they are saying i should have a list price of $30k and a Reserve of 20K does that make sense to go this way. Do they ususally get good buyers and are you able to get good prices?
Let me know if anyone has any experience with them and premium domain sales

Per your post on DNF, you already have a $20k offer on WMD don't you?

Personally, I think Great Domains is such a site in the past it's not even funny. Very very few sales occur on there, and they expect you to not list your name anywhere else if you list with them, so even when they accepted a slew of mine, I decided not to list with them. Who knows though, some people get successful there obviously.

correct i have a 20 K offer already and several others close to it. That was kinda my feeling about listing with Great Domains. I didnt want to be locked into dealing only wiht them.
Anyone else?

You should try AFTERNIC , there have been a lot of SALES coming from it. It wouldnt be a bad idea just to list your domain for some time and check whether you get an even better DEAL.

I dont think its a good idea passing your domain to just 1 site to list.

Greatdomains have a very limited customer base due to its 'premium' domains.

It makes targetting for a specific subject of domain even harder due to the decreased customer reach.

Exactly ! :)

Try other avenues also, you may find BETTER deals.

Yea, thats what I meant. Not putting all your eggs in one basket.

If you stop and think about it, it's fairly impossible for loscocco to put all of his eggs in one basket. He's already received several offers and hasn't even listed it in GD. Even if he does go with Great Domains, contrary to Crooky's thoughts, it is not an exclusive arrangement. While they don't sell as much as they used to, it will still get you exposure precisely because of the fact that they deal in premium names. The only advice I would give is to explain to them how you have already had one or more $20K offers, and give them the minimum you will accept as a reserve. If they don't accept it, you're no worse off than before, are you?

you don't have to accept these price ranges. you can tell them you want a higher list and reserve price, and they will somewhat negotiate that with you if they feel you're being reasonable in your expectations. As you already have a 20k offer, i'd raise the list and reserve.

the ball is always going to be in your court with this short, GREAT .com. just remember that you have what alot of domainers want, so maximize your marketing/advertising of the good domain name.

I listed a few domains at Great Domains over two years ago. Never heard anything. No updates, no email, no nothing.
