Yes a real logo.

I don't mean a logo that you create in 5 minutes. I'm talking about a real logo that you can use to brand a (your) company around.

You would be able to add your input, jpgs, gifs, according to spec get a high quality PSD or AI file to use in printing of business cards etc.

Remember this is your brand, your identity to the whole world.

What would you spend on it?

That way it would be priceless. It all depends on the company's budget. One could spend $x to $xxxx.
It all depends, instead of hiring one major company, you could try holding contests in many forums or sites like hatchwise, logomyway etc.
Once you you see the right logo, you just know its the one. And after all the contests if you are still not satisfied, you can hire a pro company.

There is no fix value for what you ask. Though starting cost of good logo is $100 onwards. Also it depends on your choice & the bran you are using.
