wo, at this life, all things have good and bad sides..I have some offline and online problems. 3 weeks ago Paypal homepage, GoDaddy login page, and some other important websites didn't open and my business is stopped for 10 days. (Normally I thinks all probabilities at my business) This made me ill. Flu and huge migraine headaches. Then I changed my some future projects because there is no guarantee for anything...
Sedo, 4 days ago my domain sold at Sedo $5,000+ ,since 4 days buyer did not pay the money, Afternic and Sedo are different, Afternic takes the money from buyer then start to transaction. Sedo is sending an email and saying "SOLD". where sold??, 4 days passed no payment from the buyer. (It was fixed price, not auction so Sedo can take the money from the buyer first then says "SOLD" and some persons can't play with us.)
True, some persons don't care the domain age, also I didn't talk about 3 letter, number .com, .net etc. and other premium names.. Some names there at the Afternic and Sedo weekly sold lists, sold price $1000, put that names to here fixed price forum with $50 and you can't sell them, trust me. Limited buyers for them, and domain age is motivating factor for the buyers imo..
Sure, a drop domain maybe not $8, It can sell $10,000+ at the backorder companys auction. But buyer/enduser don't know this, he/she thinks it is new reg $8-10 name.. (of course $10,000 name is must be premium, and buyer don't look the age but I saw some crap domains sold with $300-500 at the drop catch auctions, but potential buyer don't know that prices)
Also I haven't problem with drop domains. At the past I buyed and sold lot of them with good roi in very short time.. (Pagerank domains , reg $8 , 2 days after sell $300 etc.)
Why lot of endusers (not resellers) prefer aged domains? Because website visitors are prefer aged websites.

(Visitors > Website owners > Domainers) Some visitors or potential customers are first checks the website and make some + - points in their mind , professional looking website +1 point, and down the page, Is this company old, expert or new at this business? and other different things. Because they will give money, time etc. to this company..
Last year, I searched a new registrar for my some domains and int*rnet .bs was looking good, all things positive. Then I seached them at the internet forums and at the other places. one guy wrote at the forum post "int*rnetbs .net 2008 reg, very new, I can't trust them" (ınt*rnet .bs , changed to int*rnetbs .net in the past)
So, TRUST, some visitors are looking to website age for trust. And website owners prefer aged domains.
I am a good domain searcher but bad seller, I can't sell new reg domains easily (no pagerank, no visitors, no premium type domains) so I prefer aged domains for easy sell, thats all. If you prefer new reg domains, it is your choice.
