What do you think good CVCV.com domains are worth excluding the letters y,x,q,w,j ?

Is WyMu.com a CVCV.com? I have it.

Depends on how wide you want to draw your lines. WyMu is not a particularly valuable name. It is what I call semi-pronouncable.

Posterchild for CVCV pronouncability is Sedo.com which I understand sold for $50,000 several years ago to the present owners as a undeveloped name. But I don't think Sode.com would be worth much - doesn't sound very good.

Although I am the curmudgon who stresses letter quality over pronouncability, and gets people mad at me for it.

I've found a few sale prices :

cubi com $2,080 SnapNames
mevo com $2,100 BuyDomains
piti com $3,500 BuyDomains
vuhu com $460 TDNam
wixi com $3,288 BuyDomains
xoru com $100 Afternic
yule com $20,000 Sedo

The sub $1000 cvcv.com I have found sounds good to me but I'm not sure if it would be a good investment. 8 other extensions except the .com are taken. Considering that most of the LLLL.com's are going to be taken in a few months prices can go only higher.

I agree about the huge difference between cvcv domains regarding their quality. This makes it more difficult to value those names. There was a guy who offered a program for free that is spoosed to value cvcv domains. Maybe I will give it a try and later on I should check currect prices at tdnam and sedo.
I think generally y,x,q,w,j would be considered as bad letters.

Except for Yule which, beyond Christmas, has great value in Chinese, and xoru, I have no idea why an enduser business would pay that kind of money for those names.

I am going to take a position here like the anti-mobi-sters, and say that this looks like a domainer fad to me. Please do not throw anything heavy at me. I also must admit that I just checked my LLLL.com collection and I do not have a single CVCV. This means that none met my letter quality parimeters or were good enough pronounceables for me to notice them. But that is mostly reg fee domains over the last year and a half, it only means that they have been gone that long.

Who knows, I may be wrong and SODE.com is worth a fortune.

I personally dont think its a domainer fad. It just makes too much sense that end-users would want short, pronouncable .coms and are willing to pay decently for them, because its impossible to find them.

CVCV.COM = LLLL.COM = Worthless so far. Why have a CVCV (simetic) domain name when you could have a CCCC,CCCV,CCVV,CVVV,VVVV,CVCC,CCVC,VVVC,VVCC,VCCC,VVCV,VCVV, etc. for a fraction of the resale price?

You are basically asking why they are using the name 'sedo' and not 'ssdd' or 'pogo' and not 'pppg'. I think the answer is clear enough.

Sedo or pogo are very easy to pronounce and they are memorable and friendly names. Also, you need to think about other languages. A good cvcv such as sedo or pogo is always pronounceable in all languages.

Even some less strong cvcv's such as 'sony' are pronounceable. Did you know that sony is pronounceable in all languages?

I sold Zeqy.com for $22.50 last week

I would think
CYCV.com (with one non-premium letter or more) - Reg Fee+
CYCV.com (all premium excluding Y) - $20+
CVCY.com (with one non-premium letter or more) - Reg Fee+
CVCY.com (all premium excluding Y) - $60+
CVCV.com (at least one non premium) - $30+
CVCV.com (premium) - low$XXX+

Pronounce abaq, enuq, pahe, paqe, etc. for me. When you can, let me know.

We are talking about the value of good cvcv.com domains. Of course there are some bad cvcv.com domains. I didn't say any cvcv is easily pronounceable.

These are currently auctioned at sedo: bibu.com, fene.com, zupy.com.

I think 'bibu' is the best among them and then comes 'fene'. 'Bibu' is typically a name that I consider as a good cvcv. In a few days we will see how those auctions will end.

LessThan96,
I think, looking at the current auctions, low $xxx will be an undervalue for a premium cvcv.

You could be right. I wouldn't consider spending more than $300 on one at this time.
