After domaining actively for a year or so, I have found that I spread my names out with different parking companies, since certain names perform better at one and not the other. Ultimately I see myself developing sites more than parking since parking is too passive. On the other hand I like the idea of passive income and building up a portfolio. I'm curious what others are doing, and how many or few parking services do you use?

OK me first...started with sedo, still with them, namedrive, dotzup, parking panel, streamic, 1plus.net and recently fabulous. I tend to move my names around all of these trying to find the right home. Streamic is good for those names that don't perform well in other places and get a decent CTR. Sedo is so ergonomic and easy, with International names and language adaption also a great way to list your portfolio. Fabulous so far the customer service is the best among them...top notch...though no clicks so far on some of my traffic names, but the wholesale prices on .nets cant be beat and the ability to track referrals. NOTE: I tried Domain Spa and quickly dropped them :(

Anyways just curious what others do?

I went Sedo>Goldkey>Fabulous>TrafficZ>DomainSponsor. Each time I got an increase in revenue, (although revenue wasn't 100% comparable because of sales/purchases).

I'm now using DomainSponsor, Fabulous, Parked. Most of my domains are low-traffic domains.

They never get automatically optimized at DomainSponsor, and the keywords on the landing pages are sometimes awful. I hate the DS landing pages, but they do produce revenue. I find it rather difficult/awkward to get manually optimized landing pages at DS. Sometimes they switch landing pages on you. DS revenue has been falling like a stone for me. May was a little better than April, which was only about 30% of February's. June so far doesn't look good.

The Fabulous system is good. You should let them optimize your domains. They're quite good and getting relevant keywords on your landing pages. You get a higher revenue share if you let them do the optimizing, and it frees up your time, although you might have to wait some days for them to setup a portfolio of domains. Revenue is ok, not great (for me). I have most of my adult and gambling names here. They're picky about the tld's.

I recently tried and liked Parked. I've moved only 20-30 domains there. Domains which had low RPC at DS . In most cases this at least doubled at Parked, with CTR about the same on average. Like any parking service, some domains do better than others, some worse, but overall better. Support from Donny is great. Optimization choices are many. You definitely will get addicted to being paid promptly twice a month and being paid for every click. I will be moving many more domains here.

After the initial hype with Parking Panel, I tried them. Fantastic landers. There seemed (to me) to be an almost complete disconnect with the 2 click landers. People were clicking on the lander but almost never making that 2nd revenue paying click. Well, that was my experience. Support went south with all the growing pains they've experienced with all the new signups they've had.

I have used many parking services in the past.

In Decemer of 2004 I was making above $3000 a month at SEDO and then transitioned to Fabulous and Domain Sponsor.

The same names that were making $3000 on Sedo made over $10,000 per month at fabulous a few months later. Some names even did better at Domain Sponsor.

If you are not parking at DS or Fabulous, then you are loosing out.

I have never tried SEDO PRO, and not sure if they Rev share is that great... but if something is not broke... dont fix it.

wow this is good information. good thread. I needed to know this stuff too.

I'm at Sedo only with about 80 domains and it's not going so great. I don't qulify for Sedo Pro but I was worried if I change Parking companies does this affect the how people are finding the domains in the first place. (obviously not the typeins) <shrugs>

Thanks

You should try Parked, Chapel. They'll accept you with a portfolio of only 10 domains. Of course you're success is limited by the volume and quality of the traffic your domains generate, and your ability to optimize your domains.
