How is this site created?

I am a true beginner (with basic html knowledge), but a very quick learner. I want to create a website similar to hotel.com. What program is used to pull all of that information together, because I can't imagine it being done manually? Please forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Most, if not all the content was probably entered manually. Hotel.com most likely has a large staff base that contacts hotels and makes contracts to display their hotel on their site for a fee - a few years of doing this daily adds up to a large database of hotels.

Wow! I thought that there was some sort of program that automatically pulls all of this information together. That website had to take years to create. Oh well, I guess I'll go another route. Thanks for responding.

To give you some help if you are looking into starting your own site then learn html first, then learn css and when you get that down pat learn php & database.

Very good advice.Go to bookstore and buy some books about HTML and CSS after you read and exercise learned buy books about PHP and DataBase.Key is in exercise and attempts.Always try to apply learned and read read read
