How important is it to check domain majestic backlink before purchasing a domain name..

Ok I bought a domain today
(carliforniaskincenter.com)
I didn't really pay attention to the backlink, so when I rechecked after purchase I saw 107 backlink
I got scared because all the names I have is just 0 backlink or Max of 5

So I went to check hoping it wasn't spam link,
Then I checked and it was coming from wn.com
I checked there DA( domain authority) it was 58
Am so happy that this does not comes from a spam link
I finally checked the domain authority of my domain name and I got 4

So am appealing to the professionals in the house to throw more insight on this backlink stuff,
So that new investors will know what to avoid and look at for.

sometimes it's not really a link but just the domain, so a visitor to that site would have to copy and paste it to address bar or type it in, as opposed to just clicking it and being directed to your domain name.

as that is the value in/of backlinks

Checking the "backlinks" (Majestic/etc) for me is just another resource to help make my buying decision..

I personally don't buy domains based on backlinks, or really care about them.

I just buy domains based on the stand alone keyword or brand value. The backlinks normally fade over time.
I prefer a domain that can stand on its own merit.

A couples examples would be -

The website with the backlink could go down.
The backlink might be removed when it is no longer relevant to the previous site.

now that am with the domain, how does it affect them
will the backlink still work for them....
this domain was just expired 2 days back and my i have so many client in california that i can do sell it to, mainly for redirect purpose..
my target is not a chinese skin center
so what does this mean am still a bit confused with these backlink stuff
i really want to know how all this worksout , the disadvantage and advantage,
i have watched a couple of video on youtube on this issue and i got to learn that there are good and bad backlink
the good one help the domain get good SEO while the bad one can hurt

Okay since it expired two days ago, most likely the backlinks still count..personally I would redirect it to a site with updated content.

Only "Google/Bing/etc" knows exactly how they value a backlink and how long that values last..

Always a good idea to make money off of a domain as soon as possible..only advice is stick to its keywords and don't spam it

LOL.. Chinese are weird beings. That is not the first time. There are lots of hidden use state or city domain built on Chinese. Some of these are used for betting, casino like kind of site.

I would have skipped past it myself I have dropped domains with 1k of backlinks so buy for merit of domain or for 50k of links if you don't have a buyer in mind.

i'm not sure why you are on here asking about backlinks for a domain if you already have a prospective buyer (who probably isn't asking you anything about the domains backlinks). You should be concentrating on making a sale

Only a dedicated techie (like maybe some of us domainers who are into domain monetization) is even remotely interested in the backlinks. Most end-users only want the domain because it suits (or equals) their business needs. Most buyers wouldn't recognise a backlink, even it ran up to them and bit them on the ar**.
