I have a GoDaddy rep assigned to my account, and they are very unresponsive. They sometimes take 3 weeks to respond to a question, or sometimes do not respond at all. Is this normal on GoDaddy? What's the point of assigning a rep then?

If this is not normal, what can I do to escalate this?

Thanks in advance :)

If this is the same as the VIP Account Executive -- I would recommend calling your Acct Rep. Sometimes they aren't there, but you should be redirected to the Premiere Services Team -- and anyone there can usually help. At least that has been my experience with that team.

Yes - VIP Account Executive. I will try calling them. Thanks

My overall experience with Premier Services representatives has been very good. My current rep, Brian R, is excellent. I've had five or six reps over many years. One was weak -- that was the lone exception. All of the rest have been very good to excellent. They have definitely added value and helped work through many issues. Kudos to that team. When I've needed help and my rep has been out, I have found that the call in service from Premier Services has almost always been strong.

My first rep was a disaster. The second one is alright. But to be honest, they have added zero value, only frustration and a waste of time.

They offer very little value, they just assign you one to make you feel important. I would rather just use a different company that offers overall good customer service.

I have had (3) in around 15 years. All have been great.

The people in that division have generally been there for a long time.

It's a nice point of contact when I have an issue, as they can direct it in the right direction.

It also can provide an extra layer or security if you use DTVS.

Having to wait weeks for a response is not normal.

Congratulations.

I was assigned one when GoDaddy was still making a fortune off me. I was offered the opportunity to take over tasks such as portfolio management, but I preferred to remain autonomous. I did get upselling nonsense, though.

I feel liberated from GoDaddy's VIP treatment. At Porkbun, every customer is treated like a VIP and if something is wrong, things are simply fixed.

Hi @LOLed,
Depending on your profile and location, you might be assigned to one of several teams. We'll DM you to learn more about your experience with your rep.

Generally, domain investors who meet certain criteria are assigned to a Premier Services rep. The Premier Services team possesses extensive expertise and assists their investor clients with a wide range of management and portfolio-building activities. Their industry experience and knowledge are impressive! For reference, @Domain Smoke shared his experience with his Premier Services rep in this interview.

As mentioned, we'll DM you to gather more information, but we always welcome feedback on our account reps. You can send any feedback to [email protected] at any time.

The one that I had before was excellent. Then they assigned a new rep to me for the past couple of years. I rarely talk to him because he is terrible. He is not even qualified to be a Newbie here.
Maybe I should talk to the Service Manager and request a new one?

100% Agree with DTVS (Domain Transfer Verification System). This service adds a layer of security by first verifying with me about any domain name(s) leaving my account. Afternic Fast Transfer enabled domain names do not go through DTVS.

A huge thank you to my rep, Greg Fombrelle, for all his help with account management and beyond! His support, and dedication have made a big impact on my success, and I truly appreciate everything he does. I've chatted with many other reps in times of need, and all of them have been a delight to work with. Thanks for making this part of the offering GoDaddy team!

Thank you for the mention in this post, Iโ€™m grateful to be part of a community that values and supports domain investors.

Out of curiosity, what exactly do you mean when you say "help with account management and beyond"?

I just don't understand what it is that people need help with. I'm fully capable of renewing my domains when needed, and I have no trouble changing nameservers if that's needed. What else is there?

I don't use my GoDaddy rep to do things like renew domains, nameservers, etc.

It's more like a point person to deal with any number of issues.

I have issues all the time with buying domains, selling domains, seeing if listings are legitimate, transfers, etc.

They can normally figure out what is going on or at least forward the information to the appropriate party.

When I tried to get help with a selling issue (at Afternic), I was told they only dealt with GoDaddy issues. I guess an Afternic rep would be much more valuable to me than a GoDaddy rep. Maybe some day I'll get one...
