Currently, since there are unregistered and available LLL.in, the poor quality combinations are worth less than a single year's registration fee. All premium combinations start around $65.

They are good for flipping i.e catch and reg a domain for $14 as they expire and then sell it for $60-120 at an aftermarket.

IMHO lll.in are good in a medium-long term perspective.
Don't think to register today and sell tomorrow or in a couple of month.
And think that from a parking point of view they generally have 0 traffic.
I think can be a very good investment if made the right way.

I've found very few(if any) solid extensions where the LLLs weren't valuable too. .in is currently on the upswing, and as its popularity increases, LLL.ins will also increase in value. Not all LLL.in are worth alot, BUT, there is opportunity to make some nice $$ because:
1. cost of entry is low(few drops are going to be worth reg fee in a year or 2, they will be worth more)
2.The opportunity for growth is high,
so, this is one of the best opportunities IMO for a buy low, possibly sell high in the domaining industry.

This isnt a short term investment. I am investing in LLL.in for the long term, I think in a few years .in domains will be a lot more valuable and LLL are a good starting point for newer domainers since they dont require much knowledge to invest in. Good luck.

Several LLL.ins with more than 1 non-premium letter were sold between $30-$50, and that could have easily been because of the buyout then. THere will be another buyout shortly, and LLL.in values should increase almost automatically. Good LLL.ins will come with good marketability too.

Here are the sales of all premium letter LLL.in recorded by dnsaleprice for December 2008 and January 2009.

MMO $800
IBN $475
IIS $218
APM $126
DPM $156
DTB $126
LDB $113
LLP $91
FCE $141

Lowest prices might be in the $60-$70 area. There have been offers in that area, but I don't have data on completed sales.
