How does the expriring work?

how can it be so that FreshDrop is listed one domain as a closeouts domain even domain should expire next year not in next 2 days? I have also wondered that why does namecheap whois tool declare different expiration and update date than GoDaddy do for this domain?

Actually this domain was listed under closeouts, but still domain informations doesn't match between namecheap and godaddy. Somewhy domain was disappeared from the list even there should have be some more hours left for offers.

Does it mean that no one can't buy expired domain in next 1 year? Why do we such 1 year quarantine for expired domains?
