How does my site look?

Critique Please

I created this website for my mother's purse business and I need to have an idea of what people will think of it. I value negative feedback.

Note: If you go to wrightswrites.com/index.html, please ignore it's unprofessional look. This is a project in the making from a couple years ago when I was less skilled.

Positive: I love the bug logo. It is really well done. I also like the color you picked for the navbar. The text for the header is also clever, unique, and fitting.

Negative: Get rid of the background repeated image. It looks very unprofessional. The site looks too wide and unprofessional. It looks like more of one of those places that have 100 ads and bad material. I would recommend putting the text and the ladybug together in a header image and make the site under that.

i like the site its got good potential if you go to good-tutorials.com and read up about some of there photoshop layouts i think you could turn this into a realy good site

i would recomend making the page around 800 pixels wide and have 600 high instead of all over the page makes it look empty

apart from that it could be a very nice site

Get rid of the background repeated image. It looks very unprofessional.

What do you recommend I do to replace the repeating image background. If I leave it solid white then the page will look too plain. If I use color, the logo and "DoodleBug Dezines" image will not fade out properly. An image seemed the way to go but I knew I had to choose a conservative bug shade to pull it off. I'm open to any ideas that would improve the background look.
